For how long are the products effective?
Prior to opening, the shelf-life for products is approximately 2 years from the date of manufacture, provided they are not exposed to extremes of temperature. Our facilities are climate-controlled, so product stored there is protected from temperature extremes.
All of our products undergo rigorous stability testing, to ensure their efficacy and quality. Products at our online distribution center are replenished on a monthly basis. In your home, store the products normally; do not expose them to extreme temperatures. You should use the products as directed to achieve guaranteed results. If you do so, products will not last beyond the expiration date on the package.
What skincare regimen is best during pregnancy?
Your skin changes during all phases of pregnancy. You may want to discuss with your doctor a non-medicated regimen to clean, moisturize and protect the skin. We recommend ESSENTIALS Gentle Wash with Aloe Vera, ESSENTIALS Moisturize with Melaslow, ESSENTIALS UVA/UVB SPF 30 Sunscreen, and the SOOTHE Regimen. If you are over 20; the ANTI-AGE Regimen Plus is excellent for every day skincare during pregnancy.
How do I know if I have an allergy to the ingredients in a product?
If you are experiencing a combination of itching, redness and swelling, this may be a sign of an allergic reaction and you should stop using the product immediately. If the reaction persists, consult your doctor. You can view our product ingredients and print them out to discuss with your doctor. You may want to try a 1% hydrocortisone cream, which you can get over the counter and use it as directed.
If you are concerned about an allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient, try a patch test before introducing any products to your whole face. First, apply the products in separate areas, on your jaw line, twice daily for two days. (Be sure to rinse off the cleansers). Watch for redness, irritation, stinging and swelling, as these signal either sensitivity or an allergy. If this occurs, you should avoid using those products.
Can I try a sample of Rodan + Fields products?
Because it takes time to notice all the changes in your skin, Rodan + Fields does not offer samples of regimens. A sample will allow you to smell and feel a product but will not supply enough for you to achieve radiant, healthy looking complexion which you would experience using a full regimen. All Rodan + Fields products come with a 60 day satisfaction guarantee, allowing you to try the products at no risk.
Do Rodan + Fields products use fragrances?
Since medications often have an unpleasant smell, most Rodan + Fields products do include fragrances. Our fragrances are tested to avoid inducing sensitivity and irritation.
However, the SOOTHE Regimen for sensitive skin contains Chamomile, a natural fragrance with anti-inflammatory properties and no other fragrances.
Do Rodan + Fields products use parabens?
Parabens are the most commonly used preservatives in personal care products and can also be found in some oral products and foods. They are used to help prevent microbial contamination, to increase shelf life, and to keep products and consumers safe. Although some recent studies have reported that parabens can mimic estrogen when absorbed by the skin, the FDA has determined that this is very unlikely. To date, there have been no conclusive studies which confirm a direct link between breast cancer and parabens.

Is Rodan + Fields Dermatologists an environmentally friendly company?
Yes. Most Rodan + Fields product containers are created from recyclable materials. Once finished, you may deposit them in the appropriate recycle bins. At Rodan + Fields, it is our goal to provide consumers with safe and effective products and use recyclable materials whenever possible.
